Nike Zoom Live 2017 PERFORMANCE REVIEW – The Best Budget Model?

Hey guys! Today we have a budget model from Nike – The Nike Zoom Live 2017. Now, most people are looking at expensive signature sneakers and not paying attention to budget models, so sad. Of course, the majority of signature shoes do perform better, BUT there are some surprisingly great team models with low price and even better performance, I call them UNDERDOGS.

Let’s see if the Nike Zoom Live 2017 is worth a look. Welcome to my Nike Zoom Live Performance Review!

PERFORMANCE

Materials

The Nike Zoom 2017 upper is covered with mesh & nylon combo. Nothing special but it gets the job done really well, I had no complains. The upper felt soft and comfortable, great feet containment and surprisingly solid lockdown. In addition, materials on the Zoom Live are durable enough to last long and maybe a great model for outdoors.

High- wear areas are covered with fuse overlays to protect mesh upper and add more durability. In result, you’re getting very nice comfort feel, soft & durable materials, no restrictive or too hard areas and zero break in time, just for $100… Amazing.

CUSHION

We have The Zoom Air unit in forefoot area surrounded with Phylon. This simple cushion setup works nicely. If you are a big fan of low profile cushion tooling and solid court feel then you will love these.

Now, the heel area doesn’t feature Zoom Air unit, but Phylon performed not so bad at all. You are still getting some impact protection and comfort feel to go with. As you already know, I like bouncy and very responsive cushion setups, but you know what? For some reason this cushion setup performed great for me, I don’t know how but it did. So for those like me, I highly recommend to try these.

TRACTION

The Zoom Live 2017 has dense multi-directional traction pattern. From the first sight this pattern looks very aggressive and it performs just like that. KILLER traction.

During my performance test I had no major slippage or dust problems. Multi-directional pattern allowed me to perform quick cuts and change directions with no problems. No worries on dusty courts too, they got you covered. I was really shocked about how great The Nike Zoom Live handled it.

By the way, great fit for outdoor players!

FIT

The Nike Zoom Live 2017 fits true to size. For wide footers I recommend going true to size as well since the upper is soft and stretchy.

This Nike model doesn’t have a spectacular fit setup, no heavy padding inside or something similar to that (it’s the $100 shoe), but sometimes you just don’t need premium tooling to feel great on court and that’s how the Nike Zoom Live felt. I enjoyed every single minute in these.

SUPPORT

There is an internal heel counter with an internal torsion shank. What can I say, great all- around support. Again, this simple and minimalistic support setup worked flawless for me. Just how Nike? I mean, this model is none other than a big surprise.

In addition, Zoom Live has the strap for even better lockdown. This strap just locks your feet in the right place and keeps it all game long. Also the strap wraps your mid foot for that lovely glove fit.

OVERALL

If you are searching for an amazing budget model, this is the ultimate choice for you man, no brainer. This is crazy… Just $100 bucks for everything and I mean everything you need to feel great on court.

This underdog model beats the majority of all recent Nike signature models. The Nike Zoom Live 2017 offers: comfy upper, killer traction, amazing court feel with some impact protection and also A+ support and again, it costs $100. UNBELIEVABLE.

It’s simple, go grab it! You won’t regret it, they will surprise you as they surprised me.

 PROS

-LOCKDOWN SUPPORT

-SUPERB TRACTION

-SUITABLE FOR OUTDOORS

-LIGHTWEIGHT & SOFT UPPER

CONS

-LACK OF IMPACT PROTECTION

    Hi,
These sneakers actually look pretty cool. I guess $100 is a budget shoe these days. I remember back in the day, Air Jordan were going for $100, and that was the top shoe back then. How time flies! You can tell that I am old school, which by the way I am still used to high tops to play ball. I just don’t trust my ankles to low tops. What’s your thoughts?

P.S. would you please comment on my article, thanks:

      Hey!

Yeah, the design on these sneakers is quite original. Oh, the good all days.. Nowadays, you can’t even think about getting a brand new Jordan model for $100, it’s so sad.
As we all know, all high-top shoes offer great support and nice secure feel BUT some of the new low-tops, like the adidas CrazyLight Boost offers the same support performance. So you shouldn’t be afraid of low-tops.

It is really good value for 100 dollars. And I used to play basketball but stopped playing it 3 years ago. But I can get this for my brother. Let’s see whether he likes its design or not.

Definitely the Hyperdunk 2016 Low – way better cushion setup, really comfy fit, light construction, tons of mobility, little bit more premium feel and now they’re under $100 at finish line. Personally, super awesome deal.

          No problem!

Ohh.. It’s a tough choice to be honest with you. Both sneakers have nice silhouette and a few really dope colorways. But if I need to choose one of them, I would say the Hyperdunk 2016 low looks just a little bit better and has more colorways that I like.

That’s one hell of a deal bro. Reach me when you have a full playing experience with them. I want to know how they did perform for you.
